alanine–glyoxylate transaminase
al·a·nine–gly·ox·y·late trans·am·i·nase (alґə-nēn gli-okґsə-lāt trans-amґĭ-nās) [EC 2.6.1.44] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the transamination of glyoxylate to form glycine, using alanine as an amino group donor. Deficiency of the hepatic peroxisomal enzyme, an autosomal recessive trait, causes primary hyperoxaluria, type I.
