semiprecision attachment: attachment of a denture to an abutment tooth or a restoration by a semiprecision rest (q.v.), sometimes supplemented by a spring-loaded plunger or clip, fitting into a rest seat on the lateral surface of a crown, which is especially deepened to provide added retention.
