Bilophila
Bi·lo·phi·la (bi-lofґĭ-lə) [L. bilis bile + Gr. philos loving] a genus of gram-negative, anaerobic, bile-tolerant, nonmotile, rod-shaped bacteria of the family Desulfovibrionaceae, isolated from gastrointestinal, genital, and oral cavities of humans and dogs; unlike most members of the Desulfovibrionales, these bacteria cannot use sulfate as an electron acceptor. The type species is B. wadsworґthia.
