colesevelam hydrochloride
co·le·sev·e·lam hy·dro·chlo·ride (ko″lə-sevґə-lam) a hydrophilic, water-insoluble polymer that binds bile acids in the intestine and prevents them from being reabsorbed, resulting in decreased serum levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and apolipoprotein B and increased levels of HDL cholesterol; administered orally as adjunctive therapy to reduce elevated LDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia.
