typical coloboma

typical coloboma
a defect resulting from incomplete, irregular, or lack of fusion of the lips of the embryonic intraocular fissure by the end of the sixth or seventh week. A typical coloboma is found in the lower nasal quadrant of the eye and is often bilateral.
