Tacaribe complex

Tacaribe complex
a group of antigenically related arenaviruses, nearly all found in South America; the medically significant ones are the Guanarito, Junin, Machupo, and Sabia viruses, which cause types of hemorrhagic fevers. Called also New World arenaviruses.
