[TA] posterior limb of internal capsule: the part of the internal capsule of the brain that separates the thalamus from the lentiform nucleus; its main function is the conveyance of corticofugal fibers from the cerebral cortex such as corticospinal fibers, thalamocortical radiations, and other fiber projections.
