decarboxylase broth
a liquid culture medium containing beef extract, peptone, and glucose, to which is added an amino acid (commonly lysine, arginine, or ornithine), for the determination of the amino acid decarboxylase activity as a differential character of bacteria, especially Enterobacteriaceae.
