di·rith·ro·my·cin (di-rith″ro-miґsin) [USP] a macrolide antibiotic with activity similar to that of erythromycin, used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, streptococcal pharyngitis, and skin and soft tissue infections; administered orally.
