SDS–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis
(SDS-PAGE) a type of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in which the anionic detergent sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is used to denature the sample proteins into linear monomers, rendering their charge proportional to their length so that migration is a function of size.
