hypopharyngeal eminence
1. copula linguae. 2. a median ventral elevation on the embryonic tongue, caudal to the copula; formed by union of the third and fourth pairs of pharyngeal arches. It overgrows the copula during the fifth and sixth weeks and gives rise to the posterior third of the tongue.
