proliferative fasciitis
a benign reactive proliferation of fibroblasts in subcutaneous tissues, resembling nodular fasciitis (q.v.) but characterized also by basophilic giant cells resembling ganglion cells or rhabdomyoblasts; it usually occurs in the skeletal muscles in older adults.
