glu·co·sa·mine-phos·phate N-ac·e·tyl·trans·fer·ase (gloo-kōsґə-mēn fosґfāt as″ə-tēl-transґfər-ās) [EC 2.3.1.4] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl coenzyme A to glucosamine 6-phosphate to form N-acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate, a step in the synthesis of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine.
