glypican
gly·pi·can (gliґpĭ-kan) any of a family of integral membrane proteoglycans, consisting of a 62-kD core and four heparan sulfate chains, and expressed by lung, skin, epithelial, endothelial, and smooth muscle cells; the extracellular domain binds to a number of proteins of the extracellular matrix and mediates cell adhesion.
