myofibrillar hypoplasia

myofibrillar hypoplasia
a congenital condition of piglets in which leg muscles are weak, usually in the rear legs, and the legs spread apart. Affected animals have difficulty moving and may starve or be crushed by their mothers. It can have many causes, including in utero poisoning or infection or perinatal injury. Called also splayleg, splay legs, and spraddle legs.
