X-linked inheritance

X-linked inheritance
the pattern of inheritance shown by genes carried on the X chromosome (X-linked genes); affected males, having only one X chromosome, always express the phenotype, and they transmit the gene to all their daughters but none of their sons. Heterozygous affected females do not express the phenotype if the trait is recessive, and they transmit the gene equally to their sons and daughters.
