chronic superficial keratitis

chronic superficial keratitis
bilateral cellular infiltration and vascularization of the corneas in dogs, usually beginning at the lateral corner and progressing towards the middle so that the cornea becomes pigmented. Since it is limited to German shepherds and a few other breeds, a genetic component is suspected. Called also degenerative pannus and Uberreiter syndrome.
