le·vo·bu·piv·a·caine hy·dro·chlo·ride (le″vo-bu-pivґə-kān) the S- enantiomer of bupivacaine hydrochloride; a local anesthetic used for local infiltration anesthesia, peripheral nerve block, and epidural anesthesia during surgical procedures and for postoperative pain management.
