cleavage lines

cleavage lines
linear clefts in the skin over many parts of the body, indicative of direction of the fibers. They correspond closely to the crease lines in the skin, and assume a characteristic pattern in each body part, although they can vary with body configuration. Called also Langer or tension l's and lineae distractiones [TA].
