lu·mi·can (looґmĭ-kan) a leucine-rich repeat protein that is related to fibromodulin and binds collagen; it is found in the cornea, where it plays a role in transparency, as well as in other connective tissues, where it may play a role in the assembly of the extracellular matrix.
