ly·so·phos·pha·ti·date (li″so-fos″fə-tiґdāt) 1. the anionic form of lysophosphatidic acid. 2. any phosphatidic acid–containing phospholipid that lacks one of its fatty acyl groups; the compounds are present as minor constituents of cell membranes as a result of phospholipid metabolism and are so named for their membranolytic qualities at high concentrations.
