cerebral malaria

cerebral malaria
a severe, often fatal complication of falciparum malaria that primarily involves the brain; characteristics may be either gradual onset of headache, confusion, and psychotic manifestations progressing to delirium, convulsions, and coma, or abrupt rise in temperature sustained at a high level with convulsions and coma.
