Mastigomycotina

Mastigomycotina
Mas·ti·go·my·co·ti·na (mas″tĭ-go-mi″ko-tiґnə) [Gr. mastix whip + mykēs fungus] a grouping of organisms usually considered a subphylum of fungi under the phylum Eumycota; they have a unicellular or mycelial thallus and motile reproductive cells. Animal pathogens are included in the class Oomycetes. In some systems of classification, they are assigned to the Protista rather than the Fungi.
