suprasellar meningioma

suprasellar meningioma
a meningioma located above the sella turcica near its tuberculum; because of its proximity to the optic chiasm, it pushes against the optic nerve and causes bitemporal hemianopia and other visual deficits. Called also m. of the tuberculum sellae.
