my·ro·the·cio·tox·i·co·sis (mi″ro-the″se-o-tok″sĭ-koґsis) mycotoxicosis in ruminants caused by eating grass or feed contaminated with fungi of the species Myrothecium, which contain roridins and verrucarins. In its chronic form animals have intestinal ulcerations and weight loss. In the acute form, characteristics include diarrhea, hepatitis, and pulmonary congestion and edema that can be fatal.
