pars pialis fili terminalis: [TA] pial part of filum terminale: the prolongation of the spinal pia mater from the conus medullaris downward through the lumbar cistern, surrounded by the cauda equina, to attach to the inner aspect of the dural sac about the level of the second sacral vertebra. Called also filum terminale internum.
