pars transversa musculi nasalis
[TA] transverse part of nasalis muscle: the part of the nasalis muscle arising from the maxilla on either side just lateral to the nasal notch and inserting on the bridge of the nose; it compresses the nasal opening. Called also compressor muscle of naris and compressor naris.
