ultraviolet phototherapy
the use of ultraviolet radiation (which may be type A, B, or C, or a combination of types) to treat skin diseases; the radiation is usually generated by an artificial source such as an arc lamp. Photochemotherapy is a variant in which photosensitizing drugs are administered beforehand.
