acrid poison
a poison that produces irritation or inflammation, such as the mineral acids, oxalic acid, the caustic alkalis, antimony, arsenic, the salts of copper, some of the compounds of lead, silver nitrate, and the salts of zinc, iodine, cantharides, or phosphorus.
