conjugated protein a compound in which the protein is linked to a nonprotein (prosthetic) group other than as a salt. Included are nucleoproteins, glycoproteins, lipoproteins, metalloproteins, chromoproteins, hemoproteins, and phosphoproteins. Cf. simple p.
