protein-serine/threonine kinase

protein-serine/threonine kinase
pro·tein-ser·ine/thre·o·nine ki·nase (proґtēn sērґēn threґo-nēn kiґnās) [EC 2.7.11] any of the protein kinases that phosphorylate specific serine or threonine residues in proteins. The group is divided into receptor protein serine/threonine kinases (q.v.) and serine/threonine kinases lacking a transmembrane domain; the latter are either separated and named by specificity (see at specific enzyme names) or grouped together as non-specific serine/threonine protein kinases (q.v.).
