retinaculum musculorum flexorum pedis
[TA] flexor retinaculum of foot: a strong band of fascia that extends from the medial malleolus down onto the calcaneus. It holds in place the tendons of the tibialis posterior, flexor digitorum, and flexor hallucis muscles as they pass to the sole of the foot, and gives protection to the posterior tibial vessels and tibial nerve. Called also ligamentum laciniatum.
