suc·ci·mer (DMSA) (sukґsĭ-mər) meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid; a chelating agent that is an analogue of dimercaprol, administered orally in the treatment of heavy metal poisoning; a complex with technetium 99m is used as a diagnostic aid in renal function testing. See table at technetium.
