ter·bi·na·fine hy·dro·chlo·ride (turґbĭ-nə-fēn″) a synthetic antifungal compound that interferes with biosynthesis of ergosterol and so disrupts fungal cell membrane function; used topically and orally in the treatment of various forms of tinea and onychomycosis.
