dexamethasone suppression test low-dose
(for Cushing syndrome) urinary levels of cortisol and 17-hydroxycorticosteroid are measured following administration of dexamethasone at three to four times the level used in replacement therapy; cortisol secretion is suppressed in normal patients but not in those with Cushing syndrome.
