Tobey-Ayer test

Tobey-Ayer test
(for sinus thrombosis) the jugular vein on the side of the suspected thrombosis is compressed. A rise in spinal fluid pressure should occur; its absence indicates presence of thrombosis. Called also Ayer-Tobey t.
