spinal thrust

spinal thrust
a treatment for lumbosacral strain: with the patient in the prone position on the examining table, the health care provider stands on the right, facing the patient, and places the right palm over the patient's lumbosacral joint perpendicular to the spinal axis. Using the left hand as reinforcement, the worker makes a series of short rapid thrusts downward and toward the head, progressing along each interspace to the midthoracic spine.
