tractus spinothalamicus lateralis
[TA] lateral spinothalamic tract: a group of nerve fibers in the lateral funiculus of the spinal cord; they arise in the opposite gray matter and ascend to the thalamus, running with the lateral lemniscus in the rostral brainstem. The fibers are part of the anterolateral system and carry sensory impulses activated by pain and temperature.
