clo·trim·a·zole (klo-trimґə-zōl) [USP] an imidazole derivative used as a broad-spectrum antifungal agent, applied topically to the skin in the treatment of candidiasis and various forms of tinea, and administered intravaginally in the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis and orally in the prophylaxis and treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis.
