tuberculum articulare ossis temporalis
[TA] articular tubercle of temporal bone: an enlargement of the inferior border of the zygomatic process of the temporal bone, forming the anterior boundary of the mandibular fossa and marking the termination of the anterior root of the zygomatic arch; it gives attachment to the lateral ligament of the temporomandibular articulation. Called also tubercle of zygomatic root.
