solitary fibrous tumor

solitary fibrous tumor
a usually benign, localized tumor of mesenchymal origin with a wide range of histologic growth patterns, arising most often in the pleura but also occurring in the mediastinum, upper respiratory tract, head and neck, and abdomen. Called also localized fibrous mesothelioma.
