monochromatic vision

monochromatic vision
complete lack of color vision, so that all colors of the spectrum appear as neutral grays with varying shades of light and dark. Called also achromatism, achromatopsia, monochromatism, monochromatopsia, and, popularly, complete or total color blindness.
