cy·clo·sis (si-kloґsis) [Gr. kyklōsis a surrounding, enclosing] movement of the cytoplasm within a cell, without deformation of the cell membrane; it occurs in plant cells and in some protozoa, in which it circulates digestive vacuoles throughout the organism. Called also cytoplasmic or protoplasmic streaming.
