1. Nutritive material supplied to the embryo during development. Cf.:hemotroph, histotroph. 2. In the implantation stages of deciduate placental mammals, fluid adjacent to the blastodermic vesicle; a mixture of the secretion of the uterine glands, cellular debris resulting from the trophoblastic invasion of the endometrium, and exudated plasma.
