Anastomosis between two parts of the stomach usually to bypass an area of narrowing. SYN: gastroanastomosis.

gas·tro·gas·tros·to·my (gas″tro-gas-trosґtə-me) [gastro- + gastro- + -stomy] surgical creation of an anastomosis between the pyloric and cardiac ends of the stomach, usually performed because of hourglass contraction of the middle third of the stomach; also, the anastomosis so established.
