n.
an anticholinergic drug that prevents muscle spasm. It is used in the treatment of spasm in the digestive system and difficult or painful menstruation and also to relax the uterus in labour. It can also be used for preoperative medication and to treat motion sickness. It is administered by mouth, injection, or skin patches. Side-effects are rare but can include dry mouth, blurred vision, difficulty in urination, and increased heart rate. Trade names: Buscopan, Scopoderm.
