A lysin that occurs naturally in the blood of a person or an animal, without the injection of a stimulating antigen or the passive transfer of antibody.

id·i·ol·y·sin (id″e-olґə-sin) [idio- + lysin] a lysin, normally present in the blood and not produced by artificial means, that lyses the cells of the animal in which it is formed.
