Linguatulidae
One of the families of Pentastomida of medical interest, the other being the Porocephalidae. L. have flattened bodies; adults inhabit the nasal cavities of various carnivores, such as the dog and cat, and larval forms are found in tissues of rodents, herbivores, and other animals; both larvae and adults have been reported from humans.

Lin·gua·tu·li·dae (ling-gwə-tuґlĭ-de) a family of pentastomes, wormlike members of the phylum Pentastomida, order Porocephalida, having flattened bodies. Adults are usually found in the nasal passages of felines and canines, and larvae may be found in the viscera of numerous different mammals. It includes the genus Linguatula.
