A mycosis caused by fungi belonging to the class Oomycetes; e.g., rhinosporidiosis.

oo·my·co·sis (o-o-mi-koґsis) infection by fungi of the class Oomycetes; it does not occur in humans. Pythium species infect horses and Saprolegnia species infect fish.
