pseu·do·hy·po·na·tre·mia (soo″do-hi″po-nə-treґme-ə) a decreased serum sodium concentration that does not correspond to a real hypotonic disorder, i.e., the serum osmolality is normal. It occurs when hyperlipidemia increases the serum non-water volume or hyperproteinemia increases the serum non-sodium solute.
